The Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System is a tax-exempt public charity and grant-making organization that provides vital support to area students, teachers and school administrators by building effective partnerships and funding high-impact projects for which tax dollars are not available. Our mission is to enhance education, champion innovation and provide sustained financial support to public schools within the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. The Foundation shares its mission with more than 10,000 similar nonprofit organizations nationwide dedicated to improving the quality of public schools and strengthening relationships between school districts and the communities they serve.
The BR STEM Network is a collaborative partnership among community partners that is helping inspire and prepare all BR youth to succeed, lead and innovate in STEM fields and in any career path they chose. Led by the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System and representatives from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, the local higher education system, community organizations, employers and STEM institutions, BR STEM is dedicated to addressing STEM at all ages throughout their lives and in all places – in schools, out-of-school time, professional development, work-based learning, mentoring and volunteering, and events.
STEMup Baton Rouge is a community-based, collaborative project designed to close opportunity gaps and strengthen local STEM talent pipeline by providing high-impact STEM mentoring and learning experiences that positively impact student attitudes about learning and empower them to problem solve, think creatively, use technology appropriately, communicate and learn from each other and mentors. The project is sponsored by the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System and funded by ExxonMobil.
