Ochsner Health System’s Academic Outreach (STEM) Program: The program’s vision is to be a leader in P-12 science education support, develop students to become highly prepared in science and to provide gateway programs to drive the healthcare workforce pipeline.
STEM Nola: STEM Nola is an organization founded by New Orleans native, and former tenured Tulane University Engineering Professor, Dr. Calvin Mackie. The purpose of its existence is to expose, inspire and engage members in the surrounding communities about the opportunities in STEM. STEM Nola will design and deliver activities, programs & events that bring inspiration, motivation and training to all STEM stakeholders, specifically focusing on underserved communities, across the city.
The Futures Fund: The Futures Fund is a workforce development program designed with the mission to create digital, literary, visual, and performing arts-based entrepreneurial opportunities for middle to high school aged youth. It provides students with training in the arts under the guidance of paid professionals and volunteers with industry-specific expertise. Our Saturday training programs are research-driven and based on best practices to prepare creative-minded youth for revenue-generating opportunities in their selected arts discipline. In this second year of operation, we continue to offer two of the four disciplines – digital and visual arts.
