  • Fluor STEM Outreach Programs: Fluor Corporation is a multinational engineering and construction firm headquartered in Irving, Texas. Fluor believes science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education is a foundation for student success. We invest in programs that inspire and prepare students to excel in STEM and are committed to developing the next generation workforce. Fluor invests in higher education and university programs, as well as those benefiting primary and secondary schools. In 2016, Fluor and its employees provided more than 236,000 students with more than 1.9 million hours of STEM training and enrichment by investing in school-based curricular enhancements, outreach and high quality out-of-school time activities. Examples include Fluor’s Craft Education Initiative, Engineers Week activities and Science Buddies.

  • The Aerospace Corporation:  Aerospace employs approximately 3,500 people, 70 percent of whom are technical specialists. Among our technical staff, 70 percent hold advanced degrees, with over 700 of them holding a Ph.D. The specialties represented by our technical staff run the full range of scientific and technical disciplines necessary for the planning, acquisition, and development of space and ground support systems. The Aerospace Corporation also currently participates in several national STEM programs.

  • Paxton Patterson: STEM Learning Systems™ provide engaging STEM-based education programs for elementary schools, middle schools and high school STEM labs. Our learning systems focus on building 21st century skills including: problem solving, teamwork, initiative, self-direction, and career development. We empower students to discover their interests and aptitudes, along the pathway to postsecondary success. Paxton/Patterson currently offers four articulated STEM Learning Systems that are sequential and developmental: Elementary (Grades 3-5) STEM Train- STEM Train makes it easy to incorporate STEM content without having to hire teachers who are content specialists. We provide everything needed for each lesson, allowing teachers to act as facilitators, guiding students toward discovery, problem-solving and creative thinking Middle School (6-9) ActionLABS- Take STEM education to the next level with College & Career Ready Labs™. Engage students in an authentic problem-based learning experience as they discover their interests and aptitudes, along the pathway to postsecondary success. High School (9-10) CAREERplus Engineering and Technology- This rigorous STEM education program, as defined by business leaders and industry experts, aligns the skills and knowledge needed to bridge the gap between secondary education and college/career success. Students develop critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills while utilizing real-world applications. High School (11-12) CAREERplus2- This capstone STEM education program creates the real-world experience of working in an engineering consulting firm. Student teams are engaged in authentic engineering work and practices. They problem-solve and compete to win professional contracts.
